Email addresses required as part of official address

Email addresses are now required as part of the “address of record” maintained by the VSB for every active attorney.
But the bar is not providing any lawyer email lists to the public.
In a petition to the Supreme Court, the VSB said an attorney’s email address of record is considered “personal information” not to be disclosed in response to a FOIA request. The VSB said it would not disseminate an email address of record if a member “affirmatively requests that it not be used for other than official VSB business.”
The Supreme Court approved the email requirement May 1, to take effect June 30.
