Peninsula Women’s Bar hosts charity gala April 9

The Greater Peninsula Women’s Bar Association will host its annual Charity Gala this Wednesday, April 9, at the Point Plaza Conference Center.
Attorney General Bob McDonnell will serve as master of ceremonies at the gala, which will last from 6 to 9 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, Transitions Family Violence Services and Avalon – A Center for Women and Children.
The gala features food from a number of local restaurants and a silent auction.
Last year’s gala raised $18,000 and bar leaders said they hope to raise even more money this year.
