The VSB announced last week the election of Gardner and other members of council who will take office on July 1:

• Guy C. Crowgey defeated “J” Martelino in a two-way race to replace John S. Barr in the 13th Circuit.

• William J. Viverette defeated Roger A. Creager in a two-way contest for a new seat in the 14th Circuit.

• Kenneth E. Labowitz was elected to the seat held by Alan S. Anderson in the 18th Circuit in a three-way race.

• George W. Shanks defeated two candidates in the 26th Circuit for the seat held by Henry C. Clark.

• In elections without opposition, John Tarley Jr. replaced Edward L. Chambers in the 9th Circuit and Susan M. Butler, Daniel B. Krisky and William L. Schmidt were chosen to replace Sandra L. Havrilak, Sean P. Kelly and Paul B. Terpak in the 19th Circuit. Schmidt had served on council from 2001-2007.

• Robert E. Hawthorne was chosen in the 10th Circuit to succeed J. William Watson Jr., and Grayson S. Johnson, who also had served on council previously, was elected in to succeed William L. Lewis in the 15th Circuit.

A special election will be held in the 17th Circuit to replace Mark Seidelson who no longer lives or practices in the circuit.
Eight council members were reelected without opposition to a second-three year term: David W. Bouchard in the 1st Circuit; Kenneth V. Murov in the 7th Circuit; Elizabeth M. Allen in the 11th Circuit; Joseph A. Condo, Paul W. Hammack Jr. and Edward V. O’Connor in the 19th Circuit; Gary M. Pearson in the 20th Circuit and Robert C. Hagan Jr. in the 25th Circuit.
